The Season at Sarsaparilla

by Patrick White

Ordinary suburban Australia: three houses and three backyards, where the Boyles, the Pogsons and the Knotts live out the Great Australian Dream, in a portrait of overlapping lives and sweltering summer nights.

Patrick White's slice of early '60s suburbia takes a satirical look at life in the Great Australian Suburb, while paying homage to those that live there, caught up in the repetitive cycle of birth, sex, decay and regeneration.
