Services and Facilities

In the heart of Brisbane City and overlooking the Botanic Gardens, Old Government House was the official residence of the Governors of Queensland up until 1910, and is the perfect location for an elegant and sophisticated event or function. Following an extensive refurbishment by QUT, Old Government House has been freshly restored to its former glory.

The lower floor of The House boasts three interconnecting reception rooms including The Hall with stunning feature staircase and overhanging hand crafted chandelier and The Dining Room and The Drawing Room, both leading onto outdoor verandahs. Also located on the lower floor is The Billiard Room, ideal for corporate presentations, board meetings and an intimate dining experience.

The Cellar, with its subterranean location provides the perfect ambience to host a memorable occasion that departs from both convention and expectation.

On the second level of The House, The Day Nursery offers a private meeting room with an abundance of natural light.

The Grounds of The House include an outdoor Courtyard and landscaped gardens which provide the perfect setting for cocktail receptions, ceremonies and pre-dinner drinks.

With professional and helpful staff, you are promised a truly special experience for your function.

Catering

QUT does not have in-house catering and we recommend the following caterers be contacted to obtain menus and a detailed quote.

Should the services of another caterer be required, a $150 fee is applicable for use of the Food Preparation Room (terms and conditions apply).

Clients can access short term parking (up to four hours), payable on arrival at the Parking Station.
